My day starts poorly, as once again, I am the last one up, and have 10 minutes to spare before 9am checkout. I throw everything in my backpack, wash my face, and head out the door at 903am... close enough! I meet Anja one last time for coffee, and then we begin the 3.7 km walk that will see us head down different paths for the rest of our caminos.

The Spanish love tiling things, from ceilings, to outdoor walls, to city streets... A lot if it is really cool, but some of it is just a bit overdone...

An old street in Villavisioca, the manzana (apple) capital of Spain...

The fountain in front of the theatre... the girl carries a basket of apples, eith more apples strewn around her feet...

Another church, of course!
I want a morning alarm like this...

Black and white cows, oh my!

I want one of these in my back yard!...

The road less travelled...

The leaves are definitely starting to change color!

A Harry Potter fan!

Slippery rocks, and though it's hard to tell, the road is steep...
Back in the mountains...

A view from above...

New yoga position? Resting cow...

Giant barrels, either for all the cider they produce, or to house the cider makers...

I walk part of the day with Janos, from Switzerland...

The sun is shining, and it's a beautiful day for a walk!
The view after every climb is so worth it!

I've moved from pintxos country to tapas coutry... what does that mean? Instead of ordering and paying for these little snacks, they are brought to you and included in the price of the drink! Hospitality at its finest!... This is a bean stew with little pieces of meat...
I arrive at Gijon...

San Pedro Iglesias in the old section of town...
I am sitting on a patio having a drink, waiting for the restaurant I have chosen to open, when these two suddenly appear, and start singing... they attract a large crowd...

I feel like some salad, but nothing TOO healthy, so I order the smoked fish salad... lettuce, tomatoes, eggs, white asparagus, olives and smoked fish- Cod, Trout and Pompano... fantastic!

But what I really fall in love with is the bottle of balsamic vinegar on the right... Pedro Ximenez is a thick, almost syrupy version of balsamic, and it is to die for!

My salad is followed by a GIANT serving of Salted Cod with potatoes and vegetables, ridiculously large and cooked in vast amounts of oil... I eat both pieces, but this is the most full I have been on this trip, and I think I might have to walk 60kms tomorrow.

Good thing dessert goes in a different hole... This almond pie is the bomb!
A little view of the restaurant...

The beach at night...
Distance walked today- 32kms
TOTAL DISTANCE WALKED SO FAR- 547KMS
The cod looks delicious and the salad too. Weather looks great. Almost 2/3 s of the way. Yea!
Huh, walked 32 kms and you don't even mention your feet or how tired you are? Are you starting to feel like the walks are less effort? Are you still carrying your backpack or are you shipping it ahead?
You should definitely try shipping it ahead and see how your walks go.
Now THAT dinner looked really cool.
Lar -last night I went to this little burger place on the U of W campus and had maybe the best burger money can buy. I'm actually thinking of going back today, lol! It's not the same as your food now but it's GREAT for Windsor!
Tonight will be your first night of meeting new pilgrims (we call them hobos here and…
