Wow... I really slipped from pilgrim mode to tourist mode in Castro Urialdes, and need to redeem myself today with a good, long walk, and maybe a little help from the sisters wouldn't hurt either, right?

First of three beaches I will pass today, but it's a little early to go swimming, and ive just put my backpack on, so we move on!
The scenery gets good, quickly...

Beautiful Wisteria!..

An old mission church I pass...

Gotta follow those arrows!

That last number keeps going down!

How can one country be so beautiful?

First mandarin tree, not sure why the photo is so sideways!
This was true an enchanted forest... the way the light played through the trees absolutely captivated me..

Stunning views along the coast...
From hills and pastures ro coastal waters...
First stop for coffee and a tortilla...
The second beach of the day...
Even with all the wrong turns I make, there are certain roads you just don't go down...

Another view of the second beach...

Some fruit you can get to...

... and some you can't...
Getting close to Laredo...

Colorful houses...

A small altar on the road...

From the far side of the second beach..

Gratuitous cow photo...
Loving this view!
Small hidden beach over a tall cliff...
There was a family of four of these birds, which i was told were Gryphon Vultures, flying directly over top of us...

You have to look very closely, but there are two mountain goats on that rock...

First view of Laredo...
The descent into Laredo...

One of the gates into the city...

Creepy but effective... when your town doesn't have a newspaper, but you need to let neighbours know who has recently passed, you just put a picture of them at the busiest corner of town...

Signing in at the convent albergue...
Right before evening mass and the pilgrims blessing... I didnt understand anything they said, but I heard camino a lot, and figured it wouldn't hurt to have the nuns, who gave the pilgrim blessing, on my side!

Old town Laredo. .
A walk abut town before dinner...

Dinner was at a restaurant a short distance from the albergue. This was the first time I tried a menu del dia... for 25 euros, they served some mixed bar nuts, then a plate of slightly bland carbonara pasta...

Followed by a slightly overcooked pan-fried bass with potatoes...

Finished with a slightlybovercooked creme caramel... but the staff were very friendly, and they put a whole bottle of wine on the table, so I was happy!
Distance travelled Today... 27 kms
TOTAL DISTANCE TRAVELLED SO FAR- 254KMS
So yesterday was a sprint, make today more casual and savour the wine.
Next time you make a joke like the peas one, In seriously going to punch you in the face!
Man, you've gotten very far and I know you went very far this day and the next few will be very long. Take it easy if you need to - there's nothing that says you have to walki the whole way.
I'd say eat well but I know you're eating better than all of us!
Keep it up Lar, this was your big dream trip for some time now!
Great job big bro! Already at 1/4 of your walk. Keep it up but do take care of your health...euh, knees...ya well it's part of your health. 😉 With the hot weather it makes it more difficult so if you need to pop some pills, then do it, but not with the bottle of wine! It's funny to hear you say how beautiful the views are and yes they are. I guess that's why I no longer live in the city. One day you'll have to come to my side on the Mediterranean and we'll walk the cliffs here. The views are breathtaking as well!
