After last night's dinner, I'm feeling more like a tourist in a swanky weekend seaside town than a pilgrim, and decide to double down on my debauchery. Although I have to find another hotel because mine is already booked solid for Friday night, I am unfazed, as this little town has me mesmerized.

I start my day just after 10am, when I meet up with Anja, Jo and Serin, and even Lorrine puts in an appearance... They are all moving on, but it is nice to see familiar faces gor a few minutes...

I spend most of the rest of my day taking photos, exploring, and catching up on my blog...

I love open air shopping... I wish more stores did this in North America...

Can't forget the fish markets...

I think that guy is looking at me!

A face not even a mother could love!...
A walk through the old section of Castro Urialdes...

A pit stop for a radler and 3 pintxos- octopus, anchovy and cheese, and cod...
My thoughts after being on the road for over 200kms...

The old section of Castro by day...
I love that the ocean is always nearby!

This looks like a small fortress or outpost that has been converted to a lighthouse...

The cathedral, which must be spectacular without all the work being done...

A little street I passed through...

Boats in the harbour...
A view of Castro Urialdes from the town square...

A view of the harbour from one of the doors up at the cathedral...
Another view of town from the cathedral...

Sculpture in the harbour...

Along the Promenade near the water...

I'll have the Kraken please!

At last, we come to dinner... A paella for two, that I was happy to devour by myself...

It was absolutely delicious, and accompanied by a glass of Tempranillo fresca. I finished with a slice of cheesecake, and knew that tomorrow morning would be difficult, as I would need to slide back from tourist to pilgrim, but it was so worth it!

Coming back to my hotel, the streets of old Castro were packed with people, festively enjoying the night...
Distance walked today- 3kms
TOTAL DISTANCE WALKED SO FAR- 227KMS
Todays the day we close the cabin down for the winter. All packed and ready to go there. Almost time to get yourself some new walking sticks. They are under a lot of stress . Don’t push yourself too hard in the heat .
Man, that picture of Castro at night as you were going back to your hotel looks amazing.
Sunday I walked Point Pelee w/ Linda - just over 9kms, and that was very nice but just enough!
The paella for two looks like something Id try alone, too!
It's good you're taking the time to enjoy these towns now - this is supposed to be a vacation, too!
Castro looks like a very beautiful town by day and night and you've gotten great pics and vids of it to share: thanks!!
