Rain, Rain, Go Away, in Luarca I Want to Play..

Oh boy... I hope this isn't the start of something bad... The last few days has been walking through a lot of forested areas with river rocks, and I have rolled my left foot numerous times... nothing that made me go ouch, but today my ankle and leg is a little sore...

With my destination today being Luarca, I start the day with a nice secluded beach...

Gotta love these little babbling brooks...

... so much so, that twice is nice!...

This old house...

Another of my favourite sounds...

You can never get enough cow or cowbell...

More colourful flowers...

More yummy sheep!

The never ending path...

A lot of rural homes in Spain look like they've been abandoned in the last 10-20 years...

This is such a relaxing sound to me...

Back to the woodland trails...

This would have been such a more relaxing walk in the woods without that gas trimmer in the background... BTW, I've heard dozens of them... The Spanish seemto like things get overgrown, then pull out the trimmers to clean up...

This path, on the side of a highway, goes up at more than a 45 degree angle...

Moving on up, to the east side...

More up, please..

This was cool... In the middle of the forest, a Muslim cemetery, built for those who served during the Spanish Civil War during the 1930s... The gate into the cemetery...

Just another cow...

Getting closer!... Can you believe I've been on the road for 4 weeks already, and completed 75% of the camino?

First view of Luarca...

The harbour in Luarca...

The kissing bridge, one of several bridges oining the two sides of Luarca...

An interesting view of the main square in Luarca...

A cool building in rhe main plaza..

A view of both sides of Luarca...

Such a great look...

A guy could fall for a place like this.

I step into this tapas bar/restaurant for a drink, and the people are so nice, I stay gor dinner... This is also where I discover the Spanish Vermouth... not as dry as the Italian version, and with herbal notes... Yzaguirre Rojo Reserva, if you can find it... I start my dinner of eith grilled scallops again... Fantastic...

On the staff recommendation, I try the Chacopa again.. I had this at basically a truck stop a week and a half ago, and I want to see if I'm missing anything, as it is on every Asturian menu... the truth is, it reminds me of veal schnitzel, and while it's not bad, it's not somethibg I would order everyday... This version is about as good as the first one was...

It's a creamy cheese custard topped with nuts and hobey for dessert, and then off to bed for me..

Distance walked today- 25 kms

TOTAL DISTANCE WALKED SO FAR- 655 KMS

Hi Lawrence I wasn’t going to comment again but here is my comment. You should ditch the backpack and get yourself a large Padded Cow Bell that you like so much and when you fall it will save your knees and ankles and feet!
