What a day! Here's how everything shook out..

ree

A subtle reminder that we are in Basque Country...

I started off going the wrong way about 4 times, but this marker kept me on track...

This is leaving Irun, and the serious climbing starts...

No bull, this guy was huge!

ree

It's hard to tell, but this was seriously steep...

This was one of the hardest sections and went on for over 2 kms...

ree

Starting to get up there, but still a kong way from the top...

ree

The altar at Our Lady of Guadaloupe...

At this point, I'm beginning to fear for my safety, and yet a part of me just wants to roll back down the hill and be done with it...

Just grin and bear it... Part 2 tomorrow...

Hang in there Lawrence. Went to the cabin today and got winded walking from the east dock to the cabin carrying 2 sandwiches and some Long Island ice tea

Take it easy going uphill, that huffing and puffing has to last 39 days! Once you've found a certain rhythm it should get better. 😊
