Today, we venture from Abadin to Vilalbe, and the number of days left on my camino has dropped to less than a week... As we get closer to wrapping this whole experience up, I want you all to know that these blogs take me around 2 hours to create, and with the walking and the eating and the blogging, I just haven't found enough time to answer questions you guys leave in the comments, but I assure you, I start my day reading them, and appreciate every response... even Victor's!... Today, I will try to answer some questions you may have about this trip in a series of videos I'll post towards the end of this blog...

The happening scene at Abadin... as usual, there is no one to be found on the streets of Spain before about 730pm.

There's a common theme over the last three days... can you spot it? You will after the next few pictures...

A few themes, now that I think about it... greenery and rain, all day, every day...

... makes for great contrasts when taking photos...

... and brings out those greens!

Really makes me appreciate when the sun shows up for a few minutes...

You're either in the hills, or looking at them, or in this case, both!

Woodland path...

... and again..

Paths and pastures...

So nice, let's do it twice!...

The streams are all overflowing from the rain..

Hey... here's a new one.. where's his underarm?

The road is long...

... and there are miles still to go...

Obligatory...

Woodland path grouping... part deux...

More muddy than anything.

Wait, that's not a path...tthats a stream... but it's still pretty....

The first Santiago sign I've seen! I must be getting close!...

A variation of the Asturian harvest houses.

I sometimes feel like I will walk forever..

An interesting memorial the road...

More paths...

The world is full of beauty...

Anther local in the spirit..

This horse came right over when he heard me coming...

So many of these roads seem ancient... when were they built?

Love these old bridges...

Stresms and brooks are much more prevalent in the mountains...

I wanna know... who built these stone roads?

Cool mushroom... wonder if I can eat it?

More paths to walk...

I spend so much time looking down. it's nice to look up every once in a while...

The path is really never ending...

These crosses are everywhere in Galicia...

Working my way through the camino...

More mucky paths.

The wall in the middle of the photo is formed from pieces of local slate buried in the earth side by side...

These cemeteries can be very impressive...

Halloween is alive and well in Vilalbe...

This old architecture!
My thoughts on my camino and the challenge it posed...... BTW, it's really hard to keep track of where you are when you are moving daily, so even though I said I was in Abadin, I was actually in Vilalbe!
My thoughts on pain management...
Likes and dislikes of the del Norte...
Did I enjoy the experience?
How was the food? By the way, I forgot to mention four things... the Chuleton I ate in Zarautz was one of the best pieces of meat I've ever eaten... the mussels in Ribadasella were so plump and juicy... the cider in Asturias was delicious and fun to watch them pour... and the scallops I had in a couple locations were to die for...

Dinner tonight is at the highly rated A Taberna... I start with a bowl of pan fried fresh baby shrimp with garlic and cilantro.. yum!... Im drinking 1906 by Estrelle Galicia...

Main course is a house specialty.. chicken and fries topped with a (local) Saint Simon cheese sauce... way better than it looks!

Dessert is Tarta de la Abuela... or Grandmother's Tart... tastes Iike chocolate pudding and custard... good enough for me!

Cool old tile advertising sign I see on the way back to my hotel...
Distance walked today- 24 kms
TOTAL DISTANCE TRAVELLED SO FAR- 796 KMS
Lawrence, just want you to know that I have been following your blog faithfully and just wanted to tell you how impressed I am by your efforts and your blog. Hope to talk to you about your camino sometime after you are home and back to normal. You may never really be back to normal. I know Linda would have been very proud of her little grade 2 student. Hang in, there you are almost done!!
Hey Lawrence! I enjoyed listening to your thoughts and opinions regarding this adventure. Funny bit of psychology at work considering the mix of emotions you've experienced -- like some love/hate relationship you might share with a friend or sibling who continually challenges you.
I have some questions, if you get the chance to answer:
Do you feel a marked change in your level energy? appetite? quality of sleep?
Are you staying mostly in hotels now?
Do you miss Diesel?
Take care and looking forward to seeing you next week!
I look forward each and every night to viewing your informative blogs but admittedly you were supplanted by T. Swift last night as I spent 3 hours watching her in the amazing Eras Tour movie featuring AVX sound.
No offense but viewing
your feet, ankles, and legs are no match for hers!
But I'm all caught up with your adventure now and Vegas has the odds of you completing this trek at 2-5 so my bet has been placed sooooo...keep it up!
